Last month I shot for L’uomo Vogue. It’s the September issue and is out on the stands right now. The portrait was of Director Ramin Bahrani.

I was just selected as 1 of 10 out of 900 photographers from 68 countries who submitted their work to WINK and Resource Magazine 10 Best 10. There will be two launch parites, one on October 20th and one on Oct 24th. Mark your calendars for the date and write me that week if you want to come- I will do my best to get you on the guest list.
I donated one of my 2”x3” prints (miniatures in an edition of 13) to an auction at Galapagos Art Space, in Dumbo Brooklyn, honored by Jerry Saltz and benefiting the OLTW (Oldest Living Things in the World). The date is Tuesday, Sept 29th from 7pm- late. Suggested minimum of $25.
Check out the current issue of SHOTS Magazine. The theme this quarter is male/female. Russell Joslin, the Editor (and also a very interesting self-portrait photographer) edits together work that moves him, unrelated to photographer status, which is really nice- I wouldn’t be surprised to see a Sally Mann image published next to an image from an unknown high-school student. It’s a gorgeous publication- let’s support it lots so one day it can be in color!
Here another article in a new magazine called Zettel Kastchen, created by the same art director, Giacomo Triglia, from the Bova Images Festival where I showed my work this summer In Italy. The Bova Festival folks are also currently working on a film documentary for TV about the artists in the festival. Link to come.
This is a recent article on a blog called Enkil. This one is in Spanish. They are based out of Barcelona.
Last month, I was interviewed by a Portuguese publication called Umbigo Magazine, based in Lisboa. The magazine will be out of the stands soon, however, the interview will be edited down and written in Portuguese. If you would like the English version, write back to me, and I will send you a copy.
I was nominated last week as one of the Finalists for Photo Lucida’s Critical Mass. This annual competition is always a great one to enter because you get to share your work with over 200 industry professionals (the judges) and often in return get very interesting feedback. Enter and support Photo Lucida!
This summer, I was 1 of the judges for the 2009 Surface Magazine Avant Guardian Competition. The winners will be revealed when the magazine hits the stands November 1st. When the launch party is announced, you will all be invited.
I was contacted last month by London-based Stuart Pilkington, Curator of the 50 States Project and the Alphabet Project, to be part of his next curated project, entitled American Women- alongside other 19 other American photographers. Over the course of 2010, he will present us each with 4 different portraiture assignments. Our work will be showcased on a site dedicated to the project, for launch in early October.
