Black Sea Hotel on Myspace

I’m still arranging, singing, and performing music all the time with my A Cappella Quartet, Black Sea Hotel. We’ve been having such a grand time together. We performed a LOT last month and have 3 more gigs in the foreseeable future.

Here’s our myspace page:  http://www.myspace.com/blackseahotel

Photography Opening at The Sara Nightingale Gallery

This Saturday night, there’s an opening in North Hampton at the Sara Nightingale Gallery. It’s an ice-cream theme-d exhibition for which I was asked to create a piece. I like assignments with rules so I enjoyed gathering kids ice-cream for this. We did this all last minute and I took pictures of Sandy, the Ice-cream Snatcher. This was on Sunday. I’ve attached it for your enjoyment. This piece will be exhibited at 27×40 and will be for sale.

A Baby Was Born

A Baby was born. I photographed my first birth last month. It was so unbelievably mind blowing. I attached that picture too. It’s for real! I was just as shocked and overwhelmed as Mom. We all were.

Polaroids at Gallery 44

I was asked to show my Polaroids at their 10-year mark at Gallery 44 in Toronto, ON Canada this year: http://www.gallery44.org.

The date has yet to be scheduled.  For those of you who don’t know, I have been taking a Polaroid of myself every day for 10 years now and plan to continue forever still despite the death of Polaroid (I have just finished a grant proposal asking for 365 packs of 600 film which will cover at least the next 10 years… still waiting to hear back from them).

An Article About Artists Who Explore Disease

Here’s an interesting article that I was interviewed for last month. Publication is the Canadian Medical Journal. It is about Artists who explore disease in there artwork (in my case, scars and bruises):

Portraiture Exhibition Funded by Getty

I forgot to tell you about the Portraiture Exhibition I was in last month in Dumbo, funded by Getty, as part of the NY Photo Festival. It was a great show with lots of yummy strawberries and cheeses and things but I didn’t send out a mass invite cause I was only permitted to invite 2 people. If you are interested in getting a Catalogue, let me know and I may be able to get one for you. I m sending you all a virtual strawberry.
