Feature story in Zoom International Magazine

This is the most exciting recent interview I have done, because the publication is gorgeous and I love and admire the other photographers in the issue. It’s oversized and glossy and designed beautifully.  You can pick a copy up at many magazine shops all over the world. If you are in New York, I know Barnes and Nobles carries it. OR, you can view it online here:

Interviewed for Chinese Magazine called Sun Fotos

I just finished my first interview for a Chinese publication. The magazine is called Sun Fotos Dooland. The issue is set for release next month. I think they are printing 15 images along with the text. Updates to come.

An update on “Photography Hijacked”

Jack Pam recently launched his Documentary film, Photography Hijacked - An exploration into the work of 12 Australian and American photographers (I’m in it!).

300,000 people tuned in to the screening in Australia and he’s getting a ton of great feedback!

He’s currently distributing the DVD all over the place, and working on a long form directors cut to submit to international film festivals. There may be additional screenings coming up, too.  Check back for more updates soon.

Interview in Turkish Photo Magazine

Here you can read my first interview ever in a Turkish Magazine. They are called Fotoritim. In addition to the peculiarly wonderful translations of the interview questions, it was interesting to have people from my photo world asking me questions about Turkish folksongs I might know cause of my affiliation with Balkan singing.

May 8th Mini-Tableau Performance Reviewed in Germany’s Welt Kompakt

Here is my May 8th Tableau Vivant review in Welt Kompakt:

My favorite part about the layout is the near-touching Obama proximity.

Below the scan of the article are the translation attempts so far. Note the “bacon folds” reference. I have no idea what this could be referring to!

Here is the article without the picture online in the archives of Welt Kompakt: http://www.welt.de/die-welt/kultur/literatur/article7709616/Nackt-in-New-York.html

Judging 10 Best 10 Photo Competition

If you haven’t yet seen the “10 Best 10” competition circulating around the blogs, see here. Last year, I was chosen as one of the 10 (was fun!) and this year I am one of the judges. This competition is presented by WIN-Initiative and co-hosted by a long list of fantastic international art and culture magazine, including one of my favorites, Eyemazing.
I look forward to seeing all the work come in!
