Mini-Tableau Streaming Live- May 8th

This coming May 8th, 2010, is my 4th Mini-Tableau leading up to the main 120-model event this coming autumn. Although the May 8th performance is a small private event, everyone can celebrate with us and peer in on the goings-on through online live streaming.

On Saturday May 8, 2010, one hour prior to sunset, at a private residence in Dumbo overlooking the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges, be witness to thirteen models; some styled, some nude, a Turkish violinist, live instrumentation, and uninhibited movement. As the sun dips below the horizon, a series of living, breathing images will unfold against a backdrop of water, bridges and city lights.

Tableau Vivant of the Delirium Constructions Part II is a not-for-profit endeavor, fiscally sponsored by the Lucie Foundation, based on my still photographic series, The Delirium Constructions.

To View this live, sign up now for access to our Tableau Vivant Channel. Then tune in at 8pm sharp on Saturday, May 8th.

If you are press and interested in attending, contact Lindsay at info@livingpictureprojects.com for details and ticket availability.

NYC Solo Show- Opening this Wednesday

I have my first solo show in NY of my photographic series, The Delirium Constructions.

To honor the Delirium series, I will be serving Delirium Tremens, as the choice beverage at the reception. There are 20 prints on exhibit and I’m thrilled with the curation and presentation.

Reception is 6-8 this Wednesday at the Tribeca Y Gallery.

Hope to see you there, so I can share stories about the making of these images with you, as well as answer your questions and listen to your feedback in person!

Looking forward to this!

92 Y Tribeca- Mini-Tableau, Exhibition, Singing

The second Mini-Tableau will take place at the Tribeca Y, as one component of a larger 2-day event to kick-off Women’s History Month. Part of the experiment in this Mini-Tableau will be to enlist one of my models into the creation/direction of the Tableau itself. I have asked Laura (who you will recognize as a model from my website – images including # 5,11,22,38), to model, yes, but also to cast and choreograph some dancers into ballet-inspired movement against the backdrop of live music and within the context of the larger pool of models. This evening is curated by the enigmatic Shara Worden (My Brightest Diamond, collaborations with David Byrne, The Decemberists, Sufjan Stevens).

I also have a solo exhibition of my still photography series, The Delirium Constructions, that will open on March 5th in the gallery space and throughout the building. Additionally, my a Cappella quartet, Black Sea Hotel will be performing both nights, along with Shara Worden and various other artists, musicians, and performers.

NY Press Review of Tribeca Y Event

The NY Press came to our event last night. Here’s a short write-up.

Selling Prints or Haiti

Last week, I joined the artists at PictureHOPE by donating an edition of 10 small prints of Shara on Raven to this Haiti fund-raising project. Congratulations to director, Eric Keller, for nearly exceeding his goal to raise $10,000. He is only 9 prints away from achieving this. Please donate to Haiti by purchasing a $50 print from any of the donating artists.

Artists Wanted Award

Here’s a link to the opening for the awards show I was part of last night for winners of Artists Wanted. Love the unlikely judges for this competition- Steve Buscemi, Chris Weitz, Sascha Lewis, Helen Hsu.
